OUR COSMIC ADDRESS

Ever Wonder what is our existence in this Universe,or what locality we hold in this whole totality or atleast what our cosmic address?? 

  Come with me to the journey through the Intergalatic space. A voyage towards Infinity.. 

               Earth 

We live in a small planet "Earth"(1st line our cosmic address) orbiting a medium size star "Sun" at an average distance of about 149.6 Million km or 1 A.U.(Astronomical unit) in an inner-planetary disk with planets like Mercury,Venus and Mars and with outer planets like Jupiter,Saturn ,Uranus and Neptune forming our solar system.

upier belt and Oort cloud: 

Our solar system doesn't end beyond Neptune ,it has expanded a way more far.

Kupier belt: 

Region beyond orbit of Neptune,there exist a belt of thousands of asteroids and comets.It is also the home of Pluto.

Oort Cloud: 

It is an extended shell of icy objects that exist in outer most reaches of our solar system,occupying space at a distance of between 5000 and 10000 astronomical unit(AU)."Our next line of cosmic address".

Orion Spur and Milky Way Galaxy:

      Oort cloud holds a tiny quanta in the Orion spur(Arm of milky way).

Milky Way Galaxy

At this scale,every dots you see in our Milky way galaxy are stars orbiting by their own countless planets.

Our Milky way contains approx 400 billions stars with their own solar systems."Our Sun" is one of them.

How many worlds? how many ways of living?

At this large scale it is not sensible to talk about distance in kilometers.So it's more apt to measure distances in light years(1 light year is that distance which light travels in one year and is  equals to 9,461,000,000,000 km).Our galaxy  is 100,000 light years  across. Even the fastest thing in the universe (i.e light) will  take 100,000 years to travel across our  galaxy.

   
The Local Group and Virgo super cluster:

 The Milkyway is just one galaxy in vast cluster of galaxies called

The Local Group

the Local Group. It contains more than 56 galaxies including our neighbour galaxy "Andromeda" and some dwarf galaxies.Total size of Local group is about 10 million light years across and it is next line of our cosmic address.

Virgo Super Cluster

And local group is just one of thousands in the Virgo super cluster.

On this scale, every object you see in Virgo super cluster ,even the tiniest  dots, are galaxies.Each galaxy contains billions of stars and countless worlds.

And yes, the entire Virgo Super Cluster itself but forms the tiny part of the whole Universe.

             
                             THIS IS OUR COSMOS ON ITS GRANDEST SCALE.

A network of thousand of billions of galaxies, it is the last line of our Cosmic address-observable universe.

  Observable Universe is that part of universe which we can see, because there is a limit to how far we can see in SpaceTime. Its our Cosmic Horizon which is 90 billion light years in diameter, beyond that horizon there are part of universe which is too far away,that there hasn't been enough time in last 13.8 billion years(current age of the universe)for their light to reach us(Amazing Huh?).

Many of the scientist suspect that our Universe is but one and tiny bubble is an infinite ocean of other universes - A multiverse.
